About Wang Han

Han Wang is studying for the Tsinghua-SAIS Dual Degree Program with a concentration in international political economy. She completed her bachelor’s degree with a major in Journalism and minor in Economics at Tsinghua University, finishing as a Distinguished Graduate. During her studies, she became increasingly drawn to the world of international political economy, an interest she confirmed while interning at Thomson Reuters and the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy.

Han’s curiosity for this new field drove her to embark on new adventures. She has been to Mongolia, Israel, Jordan and Russia to experience the political environment first-hand. Han was the first Chinese student to interview a Mongolian politician and her glimpse into the China-Mongolia relationship was published in the book, ‘Writing on Asia’s Border.’ Her continued motivation for international politics led her to undertake an exchange program at the College of William and Mary to pursue further academic studies. Currently, Han is working as an assistant researcher at the Samsung Economic Research Institute in the Financial Markets Department.

Through her combined experience, Han is well placed in the dual master’s program. She believes her abundant experience and cross-cultural involvement will make an important contribution to the diversity and creativity of SAIS.
