About Louis

Louis Mark is an International Relations Master’s candidate for the dual degree program with Johns Hopkins (SAIS) and Tsinghua University.  His research focuses on energy and the environment with an emphasis on energy security regarding the trade of oil in Northeast Asia and the control of water sources in Yunnan province and the Mekong River Basin.
 
Mark comes from a broad range of experiences. His career has a global focus in development work for the OECD in 9 countries spread over 4 continents. He has also worked with the Clinton Global Intiative’s (CGI) logistics and planning committee for major annual conferences. He has supported intercontinental litigation between German and US fortune 500 companies including Bayer Pharmaceuticals as well as litigated financial securities with regards to contract law.
 
Mark has lived, worked, and conducted research in Russia, Italy, France, South Korea, and China. He hopes to continue expanding his career in international affairs while deepening his sense of culture and language. On his spare time he enjoys playing the piano and attending concerts.
