About Deng Yaqing
Deng Yaqing graduated with honors from Tsinghua University with a Bachelor’s of Law in International Politics and a BA in Journalism. In her junior year, she studied abroad at Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris – Sciences Po for a semester.
Prior to graduation, Yaqing interned at China Development Research Foundation, and helped prepare for the China Development Forum. She was also a summer intern at the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy in 2016, where she assisted Professor Zhao Kejin’s research on the One Belt One Road Initiative. In 2017, Yaqing worked as an assistant at Roland Berger, and as a public relations intern at Ruder Finn. She helped international clients understand market potential in China based on Chinese-Vietnamese trade and economic data.
During her undergraduate years, Yaqing conducted research on political risks in Ecuador and Columbia. Her research also focused on economic and military aid from the United States to China’s neighboring countries. Yaqing’s research interests include political risk assessment, international trade and global governance.
