Sarah Aver – NexGen Global Forum

Sarah Aver received a B.A. in International Relations from the Global Studies Institute at the University of Geneva in 2016. Sarah volunteered at the World Humanitarian Summit and at the International Federation of the Red Cross where she facilitated communication during the negotiations of the 20th session of the general assembly. She has also spent time counseling refugee youth with the Global Refugee Youth Consultation.

Prior to joining the Tsinghua-SAIS Dual Degree Program, Sarah spent six months as an intern at the United Nations, serving as a project manager and representing the NGO Apprentissages sans Frontières. At the NGO, she managed the “Recognition of Dual Apprenticeship within the Framework of the United Nations Right to Education” program.
 
Sarah’s research particularly focused on the Belt and Road initiative and she wrote her senior thesis paper on the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. These experiences cemented her desire to concentrate in Sino-European relations.

​In parallel with her study at Tsinghua University, Sarah worked at the Delegation of the European Union to China as a trainee in the political section.
