About Jonathan
Jonathan Peyster’s interest in China and international relations was primarily formed while studying in China during his college years. Before his junior year, he received a NSEP Boren Scholarship which allowed him to study Mandarin at Beijing Normal University and Yunnan Normal University for an academic year. Also during college, Jonathan spent two summers at Qingdao University researching Chinese energy and economic policy as a Fulbright Hayes GPA scholar.
Upon graduation, Jonathan moved to Kunming where he managed a start-up called Minds Abroad that develops custom study, intern, volunteer, and travel programs. He returned to the US in 2011 and took a position as Director of Student Programs at Massachusetts International Academy, a school that prepares students to study at American universities. Two years later, Jonathan began working as a Program Manager at Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business. His work at Tuck focused on organizing events focused on the intersection of business and government and working with faculty to design and manage study abroad programs. Jonathan grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Bard College with a B.A. in Asian Studies in 2009. In addition to his interest in all things China, Jonathan also loves cooking, photography, and travel.
