Daniel Kaplan – NexGen Global Forum

Originally from New York, Daniel Kaplan graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2012. He wrote his honors thesis on the history of American lone wolf terrorists.
 
Before enrolling in the Tsinghua-SAIS dual degree program, he worked in Shanghai, London and then on American congressional races, including Rep. Josh Gottheimer’s successful 2016 race, and for DC based
foreign policy advocacy organization Foreign Policy for America (FP4A).
 
Daniel has been invited to preform and teach improv throughout Asia. He has worked with companies such as Apple and Unilever to provide corporate training sessions integrating interpersonal and intercultural skills based on improvisational techniques.
 
Daniel’s research interests include Sino-American security cooperation and friction; American lone wolf terrorism; international security institutions and mechanisms; as well as the Chinese housing market and
imitation architecture.
