Ling Zhanping

Zhanping graduated from Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Arts with a major of Language and Culture and a minor in Japanese Language. Zhanping is fluent in English, Chinese, Thai, and Japanese.

During her undergraduate years, she was awarded with Waseda University’s scholarship under the AIMS7 Universities Consortium Plurilingual and Pluricultural Program and was given the opportunity to study in Waseda University as an exchange student for one semester. During Zhanping’s exchange at Waseda, she joined the Japan University English Model United Nations at Kobe City University of Foreign Studies.
 
Her exclusive experience of living in a multi-cultural milieu sparked her interest in China’s foreign policies toward Southeast Asia especially concerning the Belt and Road Initiative and China’s influence on the economic development of the SEA region. Moreover, Zhanping’s academic exchange experience in Waseda University has intrigued her to pursue in-depth research of China and Japan relations, and her future goal is to make contributions in bridging the gaps between two nations.
