About Ricky Packer
Richard Packer graduated from Villanova University with a B.A. in Arab & Islamic Studies. During his undergraduate studies, Richard focused on the history and politics of the Arab world, taking his studies abroad to Jordan, Egypt, and Oman. In 2014, he completed an internship at the Moshe Dayan Center in Tel Aviv, where he conducted research on the ISIL invasion of northern Iraq and security in the West Bank. Prior to starting at Tsinghua, Richard also worked as an English instructor at a state university in central Turkey. Richard’s research interests include the ongoing effects of the Arab Spring, Israeli politics, and Chinese-Middle East relations. After graduation, he hopes to pursue further academia.
