About Simon PaetzoldSimon Paetzold graduated from the University of Münster with degrees in politics and economics, and has lived in both Mainland China and Taiwan. Simon has interned with the German Foreign Ministry in Geneva, the European Parliament, and the Global Public Policy Institute. At these institutions, he researched issues related to international trade and economic policy, and China’s influence in the international system. He speaks fluent Mandarin, English, German and French.
Simon’s research interests include the effects of China’s rise on global governance structures, as well as Chinese and international political economy with a focus on global financial markets and economic diplomacy. After graduating from Tsinghua-SAIS, Simon plans to pursue a career in the international finance industry or at an international organization of economic governance, in hopes of contributing to the development of meaningful and sensible economic regulation at the international leve
