About Fan Zhiyi

Fan Zhiyi graduated from Renmin University with a BA in International Political Economy. He received the Fei Xiaotong Scholarship and obtained an Excellent Graduate award upon graduation. In 2015, he studied at Aberystwyth University in the United Kingdom sponsored by the China Scholarship Council. Driven by his interest in public policy, he undertook an internship at the Chicago City Hall during the summer of 2016, where he helped complete a report on local pension reform. He also interned at the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University, where he assisted the writing of news comments, the Belt and Road Initiative reports, and books about the NPC and CPPCC. In May 2017, he actively engaged in the preparation for Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation by working as the liaison officer for the Finance Minister of Pakistan.

Zhiyi’s research interests include international energy and environment governance as well as international development, especially the application of development finance in the aforementioned areas.
