About Li Wanqing
Li Wanqing is a graduate student in the Tsinghua-SAIS Dual Degree Program. She was conferred her Bachelor’s Degree of Law from the Department of Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs Management at China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU). She was also a recipient of the Wai-Jiao-Shi-Ji Scholarship at CFAU. Due to her passion for intercultural communication and public diplomacy, she once interned at the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), where she facilitated the organization of conferences. In 2016, she worked as an intern at the Department of News and Public Affairs at the Charhar Institute, a non-governmental think tank based in Beijing, and then in 2017, she was in charge of international cooperation programs between the Charhar Institute and foreign universities, think tanks, and embassies in China.
As a Beijing native, she loves to introduce local food and sites to visitors. She volunteered at the former residence of Soong Ching-Ling for one year in weekends and at the Red Cross Society of China’s Beijing branch with a first aid certificate. She likes to perform on stage and was the president of the Stage Performance Club at CFAU, where she won the Best Director and Best Stage Design prizes and municipal level competitions. Her research topics include, but are not limited to, energy, resource and environmental governance; international development; and intercultural communication.
