About Yang Lujia

Yang Lujia is a graduate of Renmin University with a Bachelor of law in Diplomacy. Four years of undergraduate study cultivated her strong academic interest in international politics, and she took advantage of Renmin’s extensive network of student associations and professional development opportunities. Lujia was the 11th president of the Model United Nations Association of Renmin University of China (RUCMUNA), and organized the RUC Model United Nations Conference 2016 and the RUC-PKU Model UN Conference 2015. In August of 2015, representing China, Lujia attended the 6th Korea-China-Japan Youth Forum sponsored by the Korean United Nations Association, and discussed the possibility and details of building a common Carbon Trade Market in East Asia. In 2016, Lujia served as the executive assistant in the Office of Public Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help organize the annual exchange program of the China Africa Press Center. At the end of her undergraduate study, she worked as a research assistant at the Center of National Security of Renmin University, focusing on the analysis and evaluation of political and security risks in Latin America.

Lujia’s main research interest is global immigration, for which she attended the Sciences Po summer school to research the refugee crisis in Europe. During her graduate study, Lujia plans to focus on comparative global immigration policies and practices.
