Sun Ming

Ming went to Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. She studied International Affairs, History as well as Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Her concentration and area of focus included international politics, security policy and strategic and foreign policy decision-making mechanisms
and process. Besides that, Ming was a part of The GW Strategic Crisis Simulation for three years, a student organization designs war games and strategic crisis scenarios and recruit participants to play them out. Her work there involved both writing and planning the scenarios as well as roleplaying during the simulations.

Additionally, Ming has a keen interest in English-Mandarin translations and interpretations. Her experience in translation and interpretation include providing legal interpretation at courts in Virginia and translating interview clips and subtitles as well as interpreting dialogues for BBC
documentaries.

Her current research areas are Strategic Studies and Geopolitics, Conflict Management and Negotiation, International Law, and International Trade.
She’s currently interning at commercial section of the US Embassy in Beijing. After graduation, she hopes to work in policy research and analysis in the private sector or academia.
