About SuzieSuzie Zhang graduated from Nanyang Technological University in 2017, with a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Public Policy and Global Affairs, and a second major in History. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a semester abroad at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and attended summer school at Peking University. She has also worked as a policy research intern at the Center for Livable Cities, a think tank under the Ministry of National Development.
After graduation, she worked for the Ministry of Home Affairs, whereby she oversees organizational planning and data management policies. Currently, she is in the Young Ambassadors Program at the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy. As part of the communications team, she supports government relations functions. Her research interests include public diplomacy, Sino-ASEAN relations, contemporary Chinese migration trends and outcomes. Suzie’s diverse interests extend beyond academia. Since high school, she has been actively engaged in various voluntary activities, both locally and abroad. She has conducted basic computer literacy classes for migrant workers in Singapore, as well as taught English at elementary schools in Indonesia and Vietnam. An avid traveler, she has embarked on numerous solo backpacking trips in Southeast Asia and Europe. During her free time, she practices yoga and aspires to become a certified yoga teacher one day.
