About Mikaela

Yuchen “Mikaela” Wang graduated Magna Cum Laude in International Affairs with a concentration in International Economics from the Elliott School at the George Washington University. During her undergraduate study, Mikaela spent a year in Scandinavia during which she studied at the Copenhagen Business School and interned at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. Mikaela has also participated in Sea Semester’s summer equatorial-crossing sailing program, during which she studied nautical science and conducted oceanographic research on the correlation between ocean surface salinity and El Niño patterns.

At Tsinghua, her research focuses on energy security and energy-related geopolitical risks. At Johns Hopkins SAIS, her concentration is Energy, Resources and Environment (ERE). After her studies, Mikaela hopes to pursue a career in the intersection of renewable energy development and environmental protection. In her spare time, Mikaela enjoys playing basketball, biking, and film-making.
